Starke Ayres CASHIER Careers Jobs 2022 Description A role for a temporary cashier has become available at our Rosebank Garden Centre in Cape Town. The purpose of this role is to accurately record and complete all financial transactions at the till point as per Company policies and procedures and interact with the customer efficiently and courteously. RESPONSIBILITIES: • Interacts with customers in a friendly, courteous, and efficient manner at all times. • Scan items and ensure pricing is correct. • Maintain clean and orderly checkout areas and complete other general cleaning duties around till areas. • Request information or assistance using paging systems. • Offer customers carry-out service at the completion of transactions. • Accepts full responsibility for the float, and counts money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. • Accepts cash/cheques/credit cards and gift vouchers in exchange for goods in accordance with guidelines as laid down by the Company. • Informs the Superior of any discrepancies as directed. • Issues refunds to customers upon receipt received from the customer service desk. • Report problems with till points/equipment to management immediately. • Refer payment policies and procedures to the superior. • Sell gift vouchers to customers and record them in accordance with company policy. • Refer product returns and exchanges to the customer service desk for processing. • Count money in cash drawers at the beginning of shifts to ensure that amounts are correct and that there is adequate change. • Calculate total daily payments and balance received float. • Ensures that all purchases are captured under the correct allocation on the cash register.
