Appointment Requirements:

Applicants:
• Must have a BCom (Hons), Bachelor Degree, Diploma with Accountancy
/ Internal Auditing as major subjects or equivalent qualification
(accredited by SAQA on NQF level 6 or higher) or related fields of study.
Certification as an Internal Auditor (CIA) or Chartered Accountant (CA)
as well as an applicable post graduate qualification relevant to the core
functions of the post, relevant training and development in a Middle
Management Learning Programme, Leadership and Management
Training Programme, and / or Programme and Project Management may
be an advantage;
• Must be registered at the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA – of which a
copy must be attached to the application);
• Must have a minimum period of three years’ appropriate managerial
experience in the field of the post;
• Must be fluent in at least two of the official languages, of which one
must be English;
• Must have a valid motor vehicle drivers’ license; and
• Will be required to undergo a security vetting process to the level of Top
Secret and obtain a security clearance of Top Secret within six months
after appointment (if not already in possession of such a valid security
clearance).

 To oversee risk based and compliance audit and performance audit
functions within the province.
 Develop a risk based plan based on the risk register of the department
and incorporated by the inputs from management, Audit Committee and
Auditor General. Manage Risk Based and Compliance Audit at a
strategic and operational level.
 Manage / supervise Governance, Assurance, Consulting and Cyclical
audits.
 Manage ad-hoc audits.
 Ensure the conducting of risk based and compliance audits with IIASA
(Institute of Internal Auditors South Africa) standards.
 Manage stakeholder relations at the Provincial Level.
 Ensure the rendering of risk based audit services in accordance with the
risk based and compliance audit plan and ensure completeness of the
plan.
 Ensure the management of follow-up audits.
 Ensure coordination of work between auditors and Auditor General.
 Manage and utilise human, financial, physical and information resources
in the immediate post environment in accordance with the strategies,
priorities and regulatory framework of the SAPS.
